unicode escapes in objective-c

Question

I have a string "Art?sté". I use json_encode from PHP on it and I get "Artu00eestu00e9".

How do I convert that to an NSString? I have tried many things and none of them work I always end up getting Art??st??

For Example:
NSString stringWithUTF8String:"Artu00c3u00aestu00c3u00a9"];//Art??st??
@"Artu00c3u00aestu00c3u00a9"; //Art??st??
