php - convert a custom shopify app to a private app

Question

I am trying to create a simple Shopify app for a client's store. I first created a custom app and tested it on a development store, but after some research, i realized that it's impossible to install a custom app on a published store.

So, now i'm trying to convert it to a private app. I can't find a lot of documentation and i'm not sure what to do after i create the private app from the store.

I'm trying to use PHP for this task and i'm completely stuck at this point.

Is there a simple template for creating a private Shopify app with PHP? What should i do after creating the app on the store? Where should i put my files?...
