reactjs - How do I configure Rails 6 to stop blocking my react app from cors

Question

I have a the two dir architecture for my app where there is a ruby on rails 6 backend and a react front-end. I used them gem rack-cors in older versions of rails. However Rails 6 does not even have a cors folder in the initializers dir. I have only found not helpful help on this using the "cors" folders in this initializer directory which does not exist.

//gemfile

gem 'rack-cors'

React scrips are running on localhost:3001

and rails puma is running on localhost:3000

How do I configure my rails application to accept calls from my react app in Rails 6? I have found no helpful resources on the internet over the last day.
