vue.js - Static nuxt site without single JSON with all contents

Question

I am trying out nuxt with the content module. I want to have my site contents serve like a single page app. So I use "static" target. But when built statically, all contents seem to merge into a single db-(hash).json file. And since I plan to grow the site content, this would result in a ridiculously large JSON file.

How do I make my site with Nuxt:

1. Dynamically load up content for each in-site link without refreshing the page; and
2. Avoid building everything into a single JSON file?

Note: I don't insist on using the content module. It's just something obvious to try.
