I have an electron app with an option in it to "auto-pop" the application if a notification comes in. Using the following bit of code this works perfectly on a Mac, whether the app has been minimized, closed to the tray or is out of focus behind another window. However, on Windows, it only works if minimized. If it is closed to tray or behind another window it does not pop focus. Looking at the electron docs I can't seem to find any other ways of doing this. Is there some trick to accessing or using these tools in a windows environment?
if (autoPopup && !mainWindow.isFocused() && showNotification) {
msg2.phoneNum = Number(msg2.phoneNum.replace(/[^0-9]/g, ''));
mainWindow.webContents.send('select_patient', msg2);
if (mainWindow.isMinimized()) {
mainWindow.restore();
}
mainWindow.show();
} else if (showNotification) {
toasterObj.showToaster(msg2, messageNotificationTime);
}
The final else if of the code shows a toast notification if they do not have auto-pop selected. Only included for complete code block.
