Canot receive messages from telegram-bot

Question

I've been setting up multiple telegram bots for a project. The bots are sending out messages once a day using node-red. I don't have any problems receiving messages from the bot, but when a friend subscribes to the bot he doesn't receive any of the bots messages. He send the '/start' command to subscribe to the bot but doesn't receive any message I'm able to receive. Any ideas
