pyinstaller - where do compiled python go

I have a simple project

  • main.py
import module_1
def main():`
    print('Starting main...')`
    module_1.printVersion()

if __name__ == '__main__':
    main()
  • module_1.py
VERSION="1.0"
def printVersion():
    print('My version is ' + VERSION)

When running the pyinstaller command, I cannot find where my module_1.py code is. I would expect to find a "module_1.pyd" file somewhere.

What I'm trying to achieve is that the main application will start and swap the "module_1" code with an updated file and the use that instead. This has to be done at runtime !

Any suggestions?
