naming convention for same assets of different type

Question

how to name same assets of different type.

For example image-200x200-01.jpg and image-200x200-01.png and image-200x200-01.gif are valid (in windows).

That makes it hard to order them numerically since OS wont complain. One solution i found is just group items by type first.

This helps in naming but in terms of readability it is confusing. you still dont know if image-200x200-01.jpg and image-200x200-01.png are the same or not. this can be solved in windows but not in softwares that dont have this sorting functionality.

I am wondering if anyone have a nice solution for this? prefix the file or create a new folder is what i could think of atm.
