I am trying to build a digital twin to monitor a manufacturing task. Basically, I would be gathering real-time data from sensors on the machinery, and combining it with product design data to create some form of insight (or maybe even control directly the machinery). My IT skills are somewhat limited and I am looking for general advice so that I can have a better understanding of the big picture and know where I need to look. I am aware that the possible solutions are case-dependent but what would you consider to be the most important moving parts of such a system ? Do you have any idea of possible solutions (networking protocols, servers types, databases,...) ?
