session - Wait until an element is in presence with the Requests libary in Python

I want that my requests session is checking, if it is on the website. Through a searchbar I can confirm it. But the code should not send another requests to the website. Instead of that it should send 1 requests and then wait, until it is confirmed, that it is on the website. To check if the searchbar is there I want to use Beatifulsoup. Here is my function and I want to turn the "if-else" into valid code.

def gettingSession():
    print('Getting Session')
    s = requests.session()
    r = s.get(url)
    if "searchbar identifier in precense":
        print('On website')
    else:
        print('not yet on website, waiting...')
gettingSession()
