I am reworking an old fashioned web page. A very long glossary with details to words sits at the bottom of the page. The page contains a lot of foreign words in a text. On clicking of a word the page jumps to the explication paragraph in the mentioned glossary. If you know the page and the application you can get back to your starting position on klicking the return button of the browser. But most users scroll back searching their starting position as they don't think to use the return button, or simple don't know the possibility. Hence the page is not user friendly at all. Using tools tip with the ?details“ tag for instance, would be much more elegant. But, the same tip or text my apply to a word used at multiple positions in the text. I'm not willing to write the same hint text more than once. Hence how to refer from several text positions to one single hint text in a static web-page? Who has the solution?
