keystore - BKS KeyStoreException in Android

Question

I had few customers/devices of APIs 8,9, and 10 that when trying to access bks (BouncyCastle) Keystore, it threw a KeyStoreException exception.

val keyStore = KeyStore.getInstance("BKS")

Bks is supported since API 1 of Android. How could that be missing?

Could that be a bug? Does Android API come with tools to make this BKS Keystore available to avoid the exception?

I wish to avoid the solution to explicitly add the BKS java library.
