A new online trend where influencers visit notorious crocodile-infested waters has been slammed by an expert who says it will end in 'death' for all involved

A new online trend where influencers visit notorious crocodile-infested waters has been slammed by an expert who says it will end in 'death' for all involved.

ripped into attention-seeking Insta-celebs looking to bolster viewers by putting themselves in danger.

The veteran reptile handler, who is trained in crocodile management, trapping and tracking,  where he explained what happens in a worst case scenario if things go wrong

'Unfortunately there's still a bunch of, what's the correct PC term...

F****** d*******'s out there doing really, really stupid s***,' Mr Hayes begins.

'The problem with intentionally seeking out crocodile hotspots is that people may die.

As part of the trend 'idiot' influencers, who Mr Hayes refuses to name in order to not bring them extra attention, knowingly put themselves at risk before acting surprised on camera when a croc appears.

'I've been sent a few videos recently of people 'accidentally' coming across big crocs in areas that are actually very well known for crocodiles,' he said.

'There's also videos of them fishing in a spot (where) there are crocodile tracks all over the sand and they're in thigh-deep water.

'You're f****** idiots.'

In some cases he believes crocodiles are intentionally lured into the open by people, who use fish guts and chickens on ropes.

But it's not the influencers themselves who Mr Hayes is concerned about.

Some on-the-nose examples of the trend feature click-bait titles and humour
Others masquerade as tutorials on how to be croc-safe

It's not the influencers themselves who Mr Hayes is primarily concerned about, but those likely to copy-cat the seemingly fun behaviour, Mr Hayes warned

'People need to understand, in Queensland, there's no relocation. It's farm or death,' Mr Hayes continues.

'They are basically selfish enough to put their own lives and the crocodile's life at risk.

'It's not natural selection. These are people that are going into someone's home, where they shouldn't f****** be, and I don't want to see anymore of these videos.'
