google cloud datastore - YCSB - Workload E SCAN Not Implemented

Question

Why is scan is implemented within the client code for Google Datastore ?

    public Status scan(String table, String startkey, int recordcount,
    Set<String> fields, Vector<HashMap<String, ByteIterator>> result) {
    // TODO: Implement Scan as query on primary key.
    return Status.NOT_IMPLEMENTED;
    }

As such, this makes the scan portion of workload E redundant.
