python - kerberos Authentication with AWS Lambda

We have RestAPI which is using Kerberos Authentication.

I have to make a get request on the API.

What we have: We have a java client for that api which we are using from Unix server from one of our ETL. How this communicates with API is we have a keytab file and out java client is using that keytab file to make the request to API.

We have same requirement from AWS. Can we create a lambda layer and upload the same jar + keytab into it. And then from our lambda function(py) we can call the jar os.system('java -jar ****')

This means our layer has java as runtime and our lambda function as python as runtime.

Will this approach work.
