javascript - Validating input with gen_validatorv4 based on radio input checked

I've an html form. There is a radio input in it with two options option1 and option2. (by default option1 is checked onload) I've an input text field in a separated div which is hidden if option2 checked with radio input.

I'd like to validate that input text field is not empty only if option1 is checked.

I use gen_validatorv4 but it's validating the field also if option1 and option2 checked.

if (document.getElementById('btypefirm').checked)  {
        frmvalidator.addValidation("bvat","req","blabla");
    }

I use the if clause above but while onload the result of IF is true it will add this validation and won't be removed if I choose option2 later.

Is it possible to manage this?

Thank you!
